What is Our Time Asking of Us?

At the recent "Is There Life in These Old Bones" class John Petroni asked what question our age is asking.

In reflecting on the "Enemy WIthin" seminar from last summer, Faith Mason writes:

I have been asking myself about the enemies: enemies of what?  I have thought: of aliveness.  And then I have thought: they are paralyzing.  And today, in The Unshuttered Heart by Ann Ulanov, she asks: what kills our voice?  so another answer is: the enemies kill our voice.  and on the next page (2) she says: "the question for our new century, I suggest, is how to be committed to realness when all feels relative, to find and create an unfolding path and live it full-out with all our hearts, minds, souls, strength, in the midst of others finding different paths?"

So starting with John's question and Faith's reflection ... what do you find is being asked of you? And perhaps of humanity?

killing the voice

I reflect on the fact that I have had decades of difficulty with my jaw, which has from time to time kept me from being able to open my mouth very far or being able to chew. Hmm. I have silenced myself a great deal. what is next? how to speak ...
