| A Guild Leader for over fifteen years, Gail Priestley graduated from Holy Names University and is a member if Psi Chi, National Honor Society in Psychology. She has published several articles including a comparison of Jungian psychology and the sayings of the desert fathers, 4th century Egyptian hermits. For fourteen years she was a member of the community of Redwoods Monastery, living the monastic life in the Cistercian-Benedictine tradition. For the past eighteen years she has worked in San Francisco's Tenderloin, as one of the Directors of St. Anthony Foundation. She has been involved in advocacy efforts to end hunger and homelessness. Gail has enjoyed leading seminars exploring prayer and meditation; and the stories, symbols and rituals of Passover/Easter. For several years she has been working with the tradition of the Black Virgins, journeying to sacred sites in France and Spain. She is also involved in Feldenkrais® body work and has taught classes in Awareness Through Movement®. A resident of Marin City, she shares her home with her husband Eric and three adored cats. |
